A Spectacular Show for the Lusail Super Cup
Set against the backdrop of Lusail Stadium's architectural marvel, the anticipation for the Lusail Super Cup was palpable. As the world's eyes turned towards Doha, Qatar, in anticipation of the FIFA World Cup™, PHNTM was entrusted with a monumental task: create a show that was both a celebration of football and a tribute to the rich tapestry of Middle Eastern culture. Blending the grandeur of traditional motifs with the dynamism of modern technology, we embarked on a journey to curate a spectacle that would resonate with the spirit of the game and the soul of the region.
Challenge
In preparation for the first-ever FIFA World Cup™ in the Middle East, PHNTM was tasked with delivering an unforgettable stage and show production for the Lusail Super Cup, held in Qatar's largest stadium, Lusail Stadium. The project needed to effectively utilize the 80,000-capacity venue, setting the stage for the championship match between Saudi Pro League and Egyptian Premier League winners, followed by a grand concert performance.
Concept
Inspired by the intricately designed Lusail Stadium, reminiscent of the fanar lantern and motifs of Arab and Islamic world art pieces, PHNTM aimed to harmonize the stage and show production with the architectural prowess of the venue. The idea was to blend modern stage technology with the cultural aesthetic of the stadium to create an immersive experience that would captivate a global audience.

Solution
PHNTM effectively coordinated with stakeholders across Qatar to ensure a seamless execution of the event. Dedication and commitment were invested into the engineering of the stage and show production, ensuring a visual spectacle that would highlight both the football match and the concert in a single evening. Special attention was given to lighting, special effects, and production elements that would align with the magnificence of the Lusail Stadium.
Result
The Lusail Super Cup was a resounding success, welcoming 77,575 fans for a memorable evening of football and music. The stage and show production delivered by PHNTM not only elevated the match between Al Hilal and Zamalek, but also highlighted the concert by Egyptian superstar Amr Diab. The hard-fought contest concluded with Al Hilal's victory in a 4-1 penalty shoot-out, capping off an unforgettable event. The successful delivery by PHNTM set a high bar for the upcoming FIFA World Cup™, showcasing the team's ability to execute complex productions at a large scale.
