A Seamless Fusion of Art and Technology
In the heart of the Middle East, PHNTM undertook the exhilarating task of bringing Blackpink's energetic aura to the stage for their monumental tour across Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Facing the complexities of seamlessly integrating state-of-the-art technology and artistry, we were entrusted with the challenge of delivering an exceptional fan experience. The fusion of dynamic LED displays, intricate lighting patterns, and explosive effects transformed the concert venue into a visual and auditory masterpiece.
Challenge
PHNTM was approached by Live Nation Middle East to assist with the technical production of Blackpink's Middle Eastern tour across Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The challenge was to bring to life an extensive technical rider that encompassed multiple elements, including LED screens, lighting, lasers, special effects, and pyrotechnics.
Concept
We commenced by reviewing the comprehensive technical rider provided by Blackpink's team. Our task was to manage the local production vendors to ensure the smooth delivery of each show. The concerts took place on a Star Live Titan structure, the largest outdoor staging structure worldwide, and one of the only capable of handling a production of Blackpink's scale.

Solution
The shows featured six automated LED screens, 500 lighting fixtures, 40 lasers, and 100 special effects units, including flames, CO2, and pyrotechnics, bringing the vibrant world of Blackpink to life for their passionate fanbase. Collaborating directly with the touring production team, we seamlessly delivered the technical aspects of the concerts across the two markets. We also assisted in setting up an 18-camera iMAG package that live-streamed the performance to large flanking side LED screens, enhancing the visual experience for concertgoers.
Result
Over 70,000 fans attended the tour dates, with the shows culminating in a grand pyrotechnics display designed in partnership with the production team. Our flawless execution of the extensive technical elements contributed to the success of Blackpink's Middle Eastern tour, resulting in an unforgettable experience for attendees. The tour's success underscored Phantom's expertise in managing large-scale, technologically complex events, solidifying our reputation as a leading production partner in the entertainment industry.
