Challenge
When Grammy award-winning artist Brandi Carlile decided to debut her album “In The Canyon Haze” with an unprecedented live IMAX concert, PHNTM was called upon to help create a unique, immersive experience. This production was set to be broadcasted live from Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon neighborhood to over 100 IMAX® theaters nationwide, a significant endeavor that required exceptional planning and execution.
Concept
Working closely with director Sam Wrench, PHNTM's task was to translate Carlile's vibrant music and the atmospheric Laurel Canyon setting into a live cinematic spectacle. The goal was to give audiences an up-close, intimate experience with Carlile, as she performed the songs from her album for the first time.

Solution
PHNTM handled the live broadcasting and show design for this ambitious event. We used IMAX-certified digital cameras to capture the performance with the utmost fidelity. This helped to transport audiences nationwide directly into the Laurel Canyon setting, letting them experience the richness of Carlile's music in a whole new dimension. The performance featured not only the songs from Carlile's new deluxe album but also a special rendition of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity.”
